The Copyright Act doesn&#039;t give an exlusive right to the &quot;use&quot; of a song or anything else - only a limited right to reproduce, distribute, adapt, or publicly perform. That makes ASCAP&#039;s #1 and #2 wrong. Nothing in the law gives a copyright holder the right to &quot;all associated profits&quot; either - movie producers are NOT entitled to a percentage of the theaters&#039; popcorn sales. That takes care of #6. #5 completely ignores fair use, first sale, and other limitations on copyright. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But I&#039;m sure a copyright expert like yourself knows all this. &lt;/p&gt;</description>
