IPI’s World Intellectual Property Day Forum April 30
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 by Patrick RossWorld Intellectual Property Day is Sunday, April 26th, but that’s a lousy day for a conference, so the Institute for Policy Innovation is hosting its fourth annual forum on April 30th from 9:30 am to 1 pm in Washington, D.C.
Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), the founder of the House Songwriters Caucus, will speak, along with Kira Alvarez, chief negotiator for USTR; Michael Gallagher, president of the Entertainment Software Association (a Copyright Alliance member); Dr. Mark Esper, executive vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Global Intellectual Property Center (the Chamber was a signatory of the IP coalition letter to President Obama Monday); and other luminaries (see list at bottom).
IPI puts on good events, and has sponsored some compelling research in the field of IP. I think you’ll find this conference of value.
It is being held in the Reserve Officers Association (ROA) Headquarters, where the launch of the Copyright Alliance was held two years ago. That’s in the Minuteman Memorial Building, Minuteman Ballroom, 5th Floor, One Constitution Ave NE, Washington DC 20002. It’s right across the street from the U.S. Senate office buildings. A complimentary lunch will be served.
