Artists Speak Out: Why create if I cannot benefit financially?

Photographer Erik Stenbakken recently wrote the Obama Administration saying that the dramatic shift in America’s attitude towards ownership and payment for Intellectual Property is not a healthy one. He notes that “the attitude of ‘if I can find it and copy it, it’s mine for free; has cost millions, perhaps billions of dollars in losses to American creators. As a creator himself he says that if he cannot benefit financially from what he produces, there is little imitative to do it.
